Norwegian Web3 company Presail is in the flow zone, has made money since its inception and will now increase the number of employees by 55 percent from 11 to 17. After raising €5 million in funding along the way, Presail has continued to develop and optimise its platform and is now ready to scale the business.

Presail is a B2B solution with over 80,000 users, divided into companies and projects that are almost exclusively from countries other than Norway. The company itself describes the platform as infrastructure for investments in web3 projects.

Scaling and professionalization

Presail today is a robust and flexible suite of products that meet customers' primary needs. We have found a Product Market Fit relative to the market. The new recruitments therefore involve both a scaling and professionalisation of the company as well as a re-cultivation of roles,” says Tomas Veiden, CTO of Presail. Veiden describes what Presail is now doing as a very natural process for a company that is moving from an early start-up stage to scale-up.

All in all, there are six new positions to be filled, in a combination of increased capacity, priority focus areas and pure cultivation of roles.

Platform for web3 projects

“We have developed a platform that allows web3-based projects and funds to raise money in an agile way. The money transfers take the form of crypto stablecoins, investors get stakes in the form of tokens and we help them keep track of owners and you holdings. That's the short version of what we do,” Veiden says.

Presail's suite consists of multiple, flexible modules. For new projects, Presail is used as a platform for fundraising. Prasail also has an integrated “Cap table management”, which makes sure to keep track of all owners and their holdings in a project. In addition, the platform supports secondary trading, which occurs within each individual investment project.

Development and Operations

Presail now divides the development team into two, one that works on further development of the product and an operations team that will focus on delivering the Presail app efficiently as well as managing more customers and increasing traffic. Presail's recruitment plans right now include both a developer for the product development team and a dev ops for what will be the start of an operations team.

“Along the way, we have built a large suite of products, which we are continuously working on polishing and improving. We will continue to do so, while also ensuring that it is delivered efficiently and can handle larger traffic,” says Veiden, explaining:

We provide a fundraising platform. On popular projects that are open and accessible to all, tens of thousands of visits can enter the website at once, just as the fundraising opens. How to deal with such an immediate increase in traffic is one of several interesting issues that the new operations team will help solve.

Finding the right application

Tomas Veiden says that in the phase that Presail is in, it is natural to clean up some work tasks and build new positions in parallel. This is also the background for the third advertised position; a Product Marketing Manager, who will help communicate the product and how the platform can be used by new customers.

According to Veiden, Presail's solution is highly flexible, and can be used for different purposes, projects and user segments, such as funds and projects. The most common user case is Community-based investments, where many investors join together and raise money for an investment project. But Presail also has other user cases; for example, the platform is used for fundraising for Ukraine while another has used Presail to finance the construction of wells. The new employee should therefore help describe and share different user scenarios and help new customers find the model that suits them best.

Cultivation of roles

The fourth position announced is a Financial Controller, who will help keep control of the financial situation in close interaction with the accountant and auditor. This recruitment will also help free up time for the management team to stay focused on other areas such as strategy, positioning, product development etc.

“This is a good example of what we are doing now, creating new roles out of responsibilities that until now have been in the management team. What it's all about is freeing up time and making sure that every member of the team does what they do best,” Veiden says.

In addition to the four announced positions, another two new positions are in the process of being announced.

Remote company

Presail currently has employees in Spain, Ireland and Argentina, as well as Oslo. “Especially when it comes to the development team, it would have been very difficult for us to find the right skills if we had recruited only from Oslo areas. We are therefore going to cast a wide net in Norway and internationally, and facilitate Remote Work,” says Veiden.
