During this year's Norway Fintech Festival in Bergen, Kaupr tested a new format, running live blogging of what happened on and off the stages. “We experienced a lot of interest in our content and participation, and this adds flavor,” says Morten Myrstad.
Kaupr's reporting team and livebloggers at the festival were Venkat Hrushikesa Varri (right) and Morten Myrstad. The live blogging took place primarily in the form of photos and summaries published on Linkedin, but Kaupr also tested out the story format on Instagram.
“This was the first time that the Norway Fintech Festival gave crypto a central place, both in the program and in the festival's network app. As Kaupr is a Nordic web3 medium, it was therefore natural for us to focus on what we called the crypto scene, i.e. lectures and panel debates that dealt with crypto, digital assets and blockchain technology,” says Morten Myrstad, founder and editor of Kaupr.
- We were also actively looking for venues, companies and people where we could find out more about what we called the meeting between traditional finance, fintech and crypto, adds Myrstad.
“It seemed that the participants at the conference thought this was both an interesting and fun way to drive news coverage. It also led to us becoming more visible, making new contacts and engaging in many exciting conversations,” says Venkat Varri.
We also seem to notice a growing interest in crypto, blockchains, tokenization and web3, depending on what word one chooses to use, says Myrstad who says that the increased interest is also spreading to an increased interest in Kaupr, reinforced by the recent weeks' commitment to “Diversity in Crypto”, “Crypto Adoption Week” and now active participation at the Norway Fintech Festival.
Below we link to part of the records that we published on Linkedin during the conference, and where you can find photos, summaries and highlights.
The first hit on the crypto scene was a brief introduction about status from Torbjørn Bull Jenssen, CEO in K33. This was followed by a panel discussion on crypto, with both fans, opponents, and “wait-and-see” contestants on the panel. D
Subsequently, Johanne Andresen (KPMG), t.v., moderated a Panel on the Status of Compliance and Regulations. Panelists on from left From left Mariuis Johansen (Skatteetaten), Kjetil Vinnes Raknerud (PwC) and Marte Eriksen Skoglund (Firi).
An interesting point was also how Thuc Hoang, Founder and CEO of Firi, openly and humbly told of what Firi's history and journey has been like, through the ups and downs and up to the success Firi is today. Thuc also took part in a panel debate that addressed the topic “the battle for the crypto customers”, moderated by Stefan Astroza in Itera.
One of the more surprising cases we came across was how Banqsoft in one application has adopted both AI technology, blockchain technology and AI agents. We immediately contacted the speaker. Peter Solomonsen to hear more and discuss the possibilities of linking AI and blockchains.
Along the way, we also met entrepreneurs that we in Kaupr have mentioned earlier, such as Asgeir Sognefest and Maren Sognefest in Kiip. In a quick and pleasant chat, we had time to demonstrate how to make cross-border payments in crypto using the KIIP app, to hear about the company's further plans and to discuss non-custodial vs custodial wallets...
Of course, a festival like Norway Fintech Festival also offers exciting networking opportunities, as well as meeting well-known people in the Norwegian crypto and web3 environments. And then we just have to offer a picture of Stig Aleksander Kjos-Mathisen, flanked by Morten (left) and Venkat (right).
It's not every day you see CEOs wearing hoodies and caps.
Well blown with this year's Norway Fintech Festiva! We at Kaupr are already looking forward to 2026!
