The Norwegian crypto exchange NBX is in the news picture, both with an e-money license and the purchase of the tokenization platform The Mint, which offers the purchase and sale of rubies and sapphires. We at Kaupr have therefore had a chat with CEO Stig Aleksander Kjos-Mathisen who tells us that solar parks are the next big tokenization project. Kjos-Mathisen also says that NBX's strategy is to become a bridge between crypto and classical finance.
In our conversation with Kjos-Mathisen, we discuss a number of different topics that may be interesting for customers, investors and observers alike. Among other things, how NBX invests in technology development to be a service provider also for traditional banking and finance. We are talking about ETFs in the US and tokenization of Real World Assets. We ask Stig why it is so important to get a license as an e-money company. And we ask about what is the intention behind collaborations with companies like AKJ, Huddlestock and Spenn.
NBX has also in recent years, like everyone else in the crypto market, encountered challenges both related to funding and downsizing. However, Kjos-Mathisen says that the company now has several areas of focus that can contribute positively, and that NBX after all solar brands will go in plus in 2024.
