Leading international MiCA experts are concerned about the high cost and complexity connected with MiCA, the new crypto regime that is being rolled out across Europe. This was evident in a panel discussion during the MiCA Oslo Week.
Could MiCA even be counterproductive in relation to innovation? This was the experts' main concern.
The panel discussion took place at an evening event Thursday, where there were also many speakers. The founder and editor of Kaupr, Morten Myrstad (left) moderated the panel discussion where the panelists were (further from left), Magnus Jones, Dr. Nina-Luisa Siedler, Mariana de la Roche Wills and Stig Aleksander Kjos-Mathisen.
The MiCA experts are still overall positive to MiCA. If we took a future view, how did the panelists think we would then be looking back on MiCA? The consensus was broad MiCA would then have made it easier for crypto and crypto industries to thrive and adapt. it would also have made the space more transparent and legitimate and given crypto investors better protection.
The MiCA Week in Oslo, which continued with a roundtable on Friday, has been hosted by Magnus Jones and supported by different companies, organisations and communities as: Nordic Blockchain Association, European Commission, K33, K33 Research, Verse, CRUCIBLE HUB, Bitcoin Policy Institute Norway, Blockchain Sweden and Zumo, as well as Kaupr (as a media partner).
