If you are looking for a book that explains bitcoin and crypto from a classical investor background, ”Mastering Crypto Assets”, published just some weeks ago, may be it. In an exclusive video interview with the Nordic media startup Kaupr, the authors Martin Leinweber and Jörg Willig explain why crypto is an asset class and belongs into a portfolio together with traditional assets.

Fact-based knowledge

According to the authors, there are still many misunderstandings about crypto, like “it is still a scam” or “have no value”. With their institutional background, they therefore wanted to write a book about crypto that is fact-based and that aims to blend classical financial knowledge with insight about crypto as a new asset class. They also think it is OK for investors and asset managers both to say yes or no to crypto, as long as their decision is based on facts.

Crypto meeting TradFi

The book, which Leinweber and Willig have written together with Steven A. Schoenfeld, comes out when there is a really heightened interest from classical finance sector into crypto and crypto-related assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum, Bitcoin Spot-backed ETFs, tokenization of Real World Assets etc. The interviewer, Morten Myrstad from Kaupr, together with Martin Leinweber and Jörg Willig therefore discusses a lot of topics that should be of interest for classical investors, as well as crypto investors searching for new knowledge.
